Adaclene 0.1% 15 g
The active ingredient present in Adaclene is Adapalene. Each gram of the gel contains 1 mg (0.1%) of Adapalene. Adaclene is used to treat severe acne in people who are at least 12 years old. Adaclene works by decreasing acne formation and helps the skin to renew itself.
Use Adaclene exactly as your doctor has prescribed it for you. It is usually applied once daily in the evening. Wash your hands before applying gel. Clean your skin with a mild cleanser (not soap) before applying the medication. Pat the skin dry with a clean towel. Apply Adaclene in a thin layer to the entire face or other affected skin areas. Do not apply any other skin products unless your doctor has told you to. Avoid application to the areas of skin around eyes, lips and mucous membranes.
It may take weeks or months of use before you notice improvement in your skin. Your acne may get slightly worse for a short time when you first start using the medication. Call your doctor if skin irritation becomes severe or if your acne does not improve within 8 to 12 weeks.
If you forget to take Adaclene, apply the gel as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and wait until your next regularly scheduled dose. Do not apply extra medicine to make up the missed dose.
The most frequently reported Adaclene side effects occurring in 1% or more of the patients undergoing treatment with this medicine were dry skin, skin discomfort, pruritus, desquamation, and sunburn.
Stop using Adaclene and get emergency medical help if you have any signs of an allergic reaction including: hives, difficulty breathing, and swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat. During your first 4 weeks of using this medicine, your skin may be dry, red, or scaly. You may also feel some burning or stinging. Tell your doctor about any unusual or bothersome side effect.
